What is RWL file?

How to open RWL file?
An often recurring problem with Leica RAW Image is that RWL is not associated with the correct program file. This is manifested by the fact that RWL files open in unusual applications or do not have an assigned program. How to solve such a problem?
The first thing you should do is just "doubleclick" on the RWL file icon you want to open. If the operating system has an appropriate application to support it and there is also an association between the file and the program, the file should be opened.
Step 1. Install Phase One Capture One
In this case, you should first verify that the Phase One Capture One application is installed on the computer. The easiest method is to use the system search engine by entering the program name Phase One Capture One in it. If it is not, installation may solve the problem, as most applications create file associations during installation. Below is a list of programs that support the file RWL.

Step 2. Create association of Phase One Capture One with RWL files
If the application is or has been freshly installed, but the RWL file still does not use the Phase One Capture One program, it means no association. The affected file may be 0 KB or smaller than expected. This is most often caused by a problem while downloading the RWL file. Downloading the file again should fix the problem.
The operating system may be infected with a computer virus. Perform a virus scan using available and up-to-date anti-virus software. Some antivirus vendors also provide free online scanners. The scan should cover the entire computer, not only the RWL file that we want to open. Sometimes virus-infected RWL files cannot be recovered, so make a backup in advance.
A typical compatibility error - the program does not support the older version of the RWL file. Help should be sought from the software developer, as they usually recommend using free file converters or installing an older version of the program.
The file may be corrupted in a number of ways. Depending on the type of file, it is necessary to repair it accordingly. Sometimes the program itself has options to repair the most popular RWL file corruption.
