Step 2. Create association of RobotStudio with RSSTN files
However, it may happen that the application itself does not cause the RSSTN file to open in the RobotStudio application, but you can set it manually. The association can be created using the drop-down list available by right-clicking on the file and selecting Properties. The displayed window will contain information about the program that supports this type of file. Changes can be made using the "Change" button. It may happen that in the next window there will be no appropriate program - however, this can be corrected with the "Browse" option where you should manually indicate the program location. However, it is important to check the "Always use the selected program ..." box, this will allow you to permanently associate the RSSTN file with the RobotStudio application.
Step 3. Update RobotStudio to the latest version
The fault may also lie with the RobotStudio program, it is possible that ABB RobotStudio Data Format requires a newer version of the program. This can be done using the application (if it provides such options) or from the ABB Group website and install the latest version.
The problem may also be with the file itself if the above steps don't work. This could be due to the file itself, the cleanest issues are:
The RSSTN file may be unusually small compared to the original file. Usually this applies to RSSTN files downloaded from the Internet in case the download did not finish properly. The only repair option is to download the file again.
The operating system may be infected with a computer virus. A quick virus scan using an up-to-date antivirus program should clear up any doubts. Alternatively, you can use the scanners available online. However, it is important to scan the entire system, not only the file RSSTN or the program directory. Sometimes virus-infected RSSTN files cannot be recovered, so make a backup in advance.
A typical compatibility error - the program does not support the older version of the RSSTN file. Help should be sought from the software developer, as they usually recommend using free file converters or installing an older version of the program.
There can be many reasons for this. The repair method must be adapted to the type of file and damage. Some programs offer the option of recovering data from damaged RSSTN files. You can restore the file from a backup or use help.
The program indicates that the file is encrypted or corrupted. The encrypted RSSTN files can be used by the device on which they were encrypted, on any other device it is required to have the appropriate cryptographic key and decrypt the file before its recovery.
The operating system protects files in some locations (e.g. the root of the system partition) against unauthorized access. While there is usually no problem reading such a file, it may not be possible to save it. It is best to move RSSTN to a different directory.
This problem only occurs with more complex files. In this case, the RSSTN file is blocked by the first application to open it. Closing other programs should help. If the error persists after closing other programs, wait for a while. However, some background programs may block the RSSTN file while scanning. If nothing helps, please reset the device.
