The RFI file is supported on 1 operating systems. Depending on your operating system, you may need different software to handle the RFI files. Below is a summary of the number of programs that support and open the RFI file on each system platform.
What is RFI file?
The RFI file has been categorized as Misc Files. It was designed by Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Additionally, the Misc Files category contains 6033 of other files. SPEFO Stellar Spectra Analysis is most often found on 1 operating systems. Although it can be found with greater or lesser success on any operating system, it will only be useful on Windows. The SPEFO application is recommended to open the file. It was released by Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
How to open RFI file?
The main problem with SPEFO Stellar Spectra Analysis is that the RFI file is incorrectly associated with programs. This causes the file RFI to open by system applications not designed for this purpose, or to display a message that there is no associated program. This problem can be easily remedied.
The first thing you should do is just "doubleclick" on the RFI file icon you want to open. If the operating system has an appropriate application to support it and there is also an association between the file and the program, the file should be opened.
Step 1. Install SPEFO
In this case, you should first verify that the SPEFO application is installed on the computer. The easiest method is to use the system search engine by entering the program name SPEFO in it. In the absence of an appropriate program, its installation in the vast majority of cases will fix the problem. Below is a list of programs that support the file RFI.
Programs to open RFI file
Remember to download programs supporting RFI files only from verified and safe sources. We suggest using the websites of software developers.
Step 2. Create association of SPEFO with RFI files
However, it may happen that the application itself does not cause the RFI file to open in the SPEFO application, but you can set it manually. This option is available from the level of Properties of a specific file available in the context menu. The displayed window will contain information about the program that supports this type of file. Using the "Change" button we can select the desired program. If there is no software on the list, simply select "Browse" and manually select the directory where the application is installed. Checking the "Always use the selected program ..." box will permanently associate the RFI file with the SPEFO program.
Step 3. Update SPEFO to the latest version
If, however, after binding SPEFO with SPEFO Stellar Spectra Analysis there were still problems, you should update the program to the latest version. In this case, use the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic website or update the program from the application.
Step 4. Check for the following problems with the RFI file
If the above steps do not help, you can assume that the file itself is not correct. This could be due to the file itself, the cleanest issues are:
The RFI file may be unusually small compared to the original file. This suggests truncating the RFI file contents when downloading or copying. The file should be downloaded again, making sure that the process has finished correctly.
The computer may have fallen victim to a computer virus or hacker. A quick virus scan using an up-to-date antivirus program should clear up any doubts. Alternatively, you can use the scanners available online. The scan should cover the entire computer, not only the RFI file that we want to open. Sometimes virus-infected RFI files cannot be recovered, so make a backup in advance.
Older version of RFI file may not always be supported by the latest software version. On their websites, developers usually offer free solutions to such problems, e.g. in the form of a conversion program or an older version of the program.
The file may be corrupted in a number of ways. Depending on the type of file, it is necessary to repair it accordingly. Sometimes the program itself has options to repair the most popular RFI file corruption. The easiest way is to restore the file from a backup, if there is one, or contact Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
The program indicates that the file is encrypted or corrupted. The encrypted RFI files can be used by the device on which they were encrypted, on any other device it is required to have the appropriate cryptographic key and decrypt the file before its recovery.
The operating system protects files in some locations (e.g. the root of the system partition) against unauthorized access. While there is usually no problem reading such a file, it may not be possible to save it. It is best to move RFI to a different directory.
This problem only occurs with more complex files. Some file types can only be opened in one program at a time. Closing other programs should help. If the error persists after closing other programs, wait for a while. Antivirus programs or a backup being made may lock the file for a while without the user's knowledge. If this does not work either, restart the device.
