The PKS file is supported on 1 operating systems. Depending on your operating system, you may need different software to handle the PKS files. Below is a summary of the number of programs that support and open the PKS file on each system platform.
What is PKS file?
The file in the PKS format belongs to the Data Files category. It was designed by Oracle. Additionally, the Data Files category contains 1326 of other files. Oracle Package Spec Format is most often found on 1 operating systems. The file will work on Windows systems, unfortunately not on others. There are also 2 alternative programs to handle the PKS file. You can use Oracle Database, Windows Notepad in case PL/SQL software cannot be used.
How to open PKS file?
The most common problem when using Oracle Package Spec Format is that a specific PKS is not associated with the program. This causes the file PKS to open by system applications not designed for this purpose, or to display a message that there is no associated program. How to solve such a problem?
The first thing you should do is just "doubleclick" on the PKS file icon you want to open. If the operating system has an appropriate application to support it and there is also an association between the file and the program, the file should be opened.
Step 1. Install PL/SQL software
An often overlooked issue is to make sure that PL/SQL software is installed on the computer. To do this, enter the name PL/SQL software into the system search engine. In the absence of an appropriate program, its installation in the vast majority of cases will fix the problem. Below you will find a list of applications that support PKS files.

Remember to download programs supporting PKS files only from verified and safe sources. We suggest using the websites of software developers.
Step 2. Create association of PL/SQL software with PKS files
If, despite the installed application, the PKS file does not start in the PL/SQL software application, you must create a file association. It is most convenient to call the context menu with the right mouse button and select Properties. The window will show, among other things, the type of the file and the information by which the program is used to launch the file. Using the "Change" button we can set the program to handle this type. If there is no software on the list, simply select "Browse" and manually select the directory where the application is installed. Checking the "Always use the selected program ..." box will permanently associate the PKS file with the PL/SQL software program.
Step 3. Update PL/SQL software to the latest version
If, despite the association of the PL/SQL software program with the Oracle Package Spec Format file, the file still does not open, check the program version and possibly update it to the newest version.
Step 4. Check for the following problems with the PKS file
The problem may also be with the file itself if the above steps don't work. This could be due to the file itself, the cleanest issues are:
The affected file may be 0 KB or smaller than expected. This is most often caused by a problem while downloading the PKS file. The only repair option is to download the file again.
The most common cause here is computer viruses. Perform a virus scan using available and up-to-date anti-virus software. Alternatively, you can use the scanners available online. However, it is important to scan the entire system, not only the file PKS or the program directory. Sometimes virus-infected PKS files cannot be recovered, so make a backup in advance.
A typical compatibility error - the program does not support the older version of the PKS file. On their websites, developers usually offer free solutions to such problems, e.g. in the form of a conversion program or an older version of the program.
There can be many reasons for this. The repair method must be adapted to the type of file and damage. Some programs offer the ability to automatically repair PKS file corruption.
When reading, a message appears that the file was encrypted or corrupted. The encrypted file PKS except for the special designation, works normally, but only on the device where it was encrypted, before transferring it to another machine, decryption is required.
Some of the system directories are excluded from modification. These directories are write-protected to them and it's very hard to fix this problem. If possible, you can try to move the PKS file to another location.
This can happen on a file that does not support multiple access. In this case, the PKS file is blocked by the first application to open it. Closing other programs should help. If the error persists after closing other programs, wait for a while. However, some background programs may block the PKS file while scanning. If nothing helps, please reset the device.
