How to open P41 file?

Step 2. Create association of RECOIL with P41 files
However, it may happen that the application itself does not cause the P41 file to open in the RECOIL application, but you can set it manually. The association can be created using the drop-down list available by right-clicking on the file and selecting Properties. The displayed window will contain information about the program that supports this type of file. Using the "Change" button we can set the program to handle this type. It may happen that in the next window there will be no appropriate program - however, this can be corrected with the "Browse" option where you should manually indicate the program location. However, it is important to check the "Always use the selected program ..." box, this will allow you to permanently associate the P41 file with the RECOIL application.
Step 3. Update RECOIL to the latest version
If, however, after binding RECOIL with TRS-80 Picture Image Format there were still problems, you should update the program to the latest version. This can be done using the application (if it provides such options) or from the Piotr Fusik and Adrian Matoga website and install the latest version.

The affected file may be 0 KB or smaller than expected. Usually this applies to P41 files downloaded from the Internet in case the download did not finish properly. The file should be downloaded again, making sure that the process has finished correctly.
The operating system may be infected with a computer virus. A virus scan using an up-to-date antivirus program should fix the problem. Alternatively, you can use the scanners available online. The scan should cover the entire computer, not only the P41 file that we want to open. As a result of the scan, sometimes it is not possible to recover P41 files, which are deleted if there is a backup of this file, then after restoring it, it must also be scanned.
Older version of P41 file may not always be supported by the latest software version. On their websites, developers usually offer free solutions to such problems, e.g. in the form of a conversion program or an older version of the program.
