Step 2. Create association of PHP Engine with INI-RECOMMENDED files

However, it may happen that the application itself does not cause the INI-RECOMMENDED file to open in the PHP Engine application, but you can set it manually. This option is available from the level of Properties of a specific file available in the context menu. The displayed window will contain information about the program that supports this type of file. Changes can be made using the "Change" button. The program should be visible in the window, otherwise it should be selected manually using the "Browse" button and the program installation directory should be indicated. However, it is important to check the "Always use the selected program ..." box, this will allow you to permanently associate the INI-RECOMMENDED file with the PHP Engine application.

Step 3. Update PHP Engine to the latest version

If, however, after binding PHP Engine with PHP INI there were still problems, you should update the program to the latest version.

Of course, it may happen that despite the above steps, the file still does not work. File problems can be divided into the following:

The INI-RECOMMENDED file may be unusually small compared to the original file. Usually this applies to INI-RECOMMENDED files downloaded from the Internet in case the download did not finish properly. Downloading the file again should fix the problem.
The computer may have fallen victim to a computer virus or hacker. Perform a virus scan using available and up-to-date anti-virus software. Alternatively, you can use the scanners available online. The scan should cover the entire computer, not only the INI-RECOMMENDED file that we want to open. However, remember that not every infected INI-RECOMMENDED file can be recovered, so it is important to take care of regular backups.
A typical compatibility error - the program does not support the older version of the INI-RECOMMENDED file. These problems are known and are often very easy to fix using the software developers's website.
The file may be corrupted in a number of ways. The repair method must be adapted to the type of file and damage. Some programs offer the ability to automatically repair INI-RECOMMENDED file corruption.
When reading, a message appears that the file was encrypted or corrupted. The encrypted INI-RECOMMENDED files can be used by the device on which they were encrypted, on any other device it is required to have the appropriate cryptographic key and decrypt the file before its recovery.
The operating system protects files in some locations (e.g. the root of the system partition) against unauthorized access. While there is usually no problem reading such a file, it may not be possible to save it. Copying the INI-RECOMMENDED file to another location will fix the problem.
This problem only occurs with more complex files. In this case, the INI-RECOMMENDED file is blocked by the first application to open it. Closing other programs should help. If the error persists after closing other programs, wait for a while. Antivirus programs or a backup being made may lock the file for a while without the user's knowledge. If this does not work either, restart the device.
