What is IC0 file?

The file in the IC0 format belongs to the Misc Files category. The creator of this file is Synopsys, Inc.. In addition to this file, the Misc Files category includes 6033 related files. HSPICE Output is most often found on 1 operating systems. These systems consist of Windows, although it may occasionally be found on another system, it will be non-functional. The main program that supports this format is HSPICE. This was created by Synopsys, Inc..

How to open IC0 file?

The main problem with HSPICE Output is that the IC0 file is incorrectly associated with programs. This causes the file IC0 to open by system applications not designed for this purpose, or to display a message that there is no associated program. This problem can be easily remedied.

The first thing you should do is just "doubleclick" on the IC0 file icon you want to open. If the operating system has an appropriate application to support it and there is also an association between the file and the program, the file should be opened.

Step 1. Install HSPICE

In this case, you should first verify that the HSPICE application is installed on the computer. This can be achieved by typing HSPICE into the operating system search engine. In the absence of an appropriate program, its installation in the vast majority of cases will fix the problem. Below you will find a list of applications that support IC0 files.

Programs to open IC0 file

Remember to download programs supporting IC0 files only from verified and safe sources. We suggest using the websites of software developers.

Step 2. Create association of HSPICE with IC0 files

If, despite the installed application, the IC0 file does not start in the HSPICE application, you must create a file association. It is most convenient to call the context menu with the right mouse button and select Properties. Information about the file and the program that the file is associated with are available here. Using the "Change" button we can set the program to handle this type. It may happen that in the next window there will be no appropriate program - however, this can be corrected with the "Browse" option where you should manually indicate the program location. Checking the "Always use the selected program ..." box will permanently associate the IC0 file with the HSPICE program.

Step 3. Update HSPICE to the latest version

If, however, after binding HSPICE with HSPICE Output there were still problems, you should update the program to the latest version. This can be done using the application (if it provides such options) or from the Synopsys, Inc. website and install the latest version.

Step 4. Check for the following problems with the IC0 file

Of course, it may happen that despite the above steps, the file still does not work. File problems can be divided into the following:

The affected file may be 0 KB or smaller than expected. This is most often caused by a problem while downloading the IC0 file. The only repair option is to download the file again.
The most common cause here is computer viruses. A quick virus scan using an up-to-date antivirus program should clear up any doubts. Alternatively, you can use the scanners available online. For the best results, we will scan the entire operating system, not just our IC0 file. However, remember that not every infected IC0 file can be recovered, so it is important to take care of regular backups.
This can happen especially when the program is dynamically developed and the structure of the IC0 files changes over time. Help should be sought from the software developer, as they usually recommend using free file converters or installing an older version of the program.
There can be many reasons for this. The repair method must be adapted to the type of file and damage. Sometimes the program itself has options to repair the most popular IC0 file corruption. The easiest way to restore the file is from a backup or by contacting Synopsys, Inc., but this one can be expensive. Not all damage can be reversed.
The program can also signal the fact of encryption. The encrypted file IC0 except for the special designation, works normally, but only on the device where it was encrypted, before transferring it to another machine, decryption is required.
The operating system protects files in some locations (e.g. the root of the system partition) against unauthorized access. These directories are write-protected to them and it's very hard to fix this problem. If possible, you can try to move the IC0 file to another location.
This can happen on a file that does not support multiple access. In this case, the IC0 file is blocked by the first application to open it. Closing other programs should help. If the error persists after closing other programs, wait for a while. Some anti-virus or backup software may occupy the IC0 file for a certain period of time. If nothing helps, please reset the device.
