What is G2P file?
The file with the extension G2P is the Misc Files file type. Misc Files consists of 6033 similar files. CMU Sphinx Model Format is supported by 1 operating systems. How to open G2P file?

The first thing you should do is just "doubleclick" on the G2P file icon you want to open. If the operating system has an appropriate application to support it and there is also an association between the file and the program, the file should be opened.
Step 1. Install CMU Sphinx
An often overlooked issue is to make sure that CMU Sphinx is installed on the computer. The easiest method is to use the system search engine by entering the program name CMU Sphinx in it. If we do not have this program, it is worth installing it, as it will help you automatically associate the file G2P with CMU Sphinx. Step 2. Create association of CMU Sphinx with G2P files
However, it may happen that the application itself does not cause the G2P file to open in the CMU Sphinx application, but you can set it manually. The association can be created using the drop-down list available by right-clicking on the file and selecting Properties. It may happen that in the next window there will be no appropriate program - however, this can be corrected with the "Browse" option where you should manually indicate the program location. Step 3. Update CMU Sphinx to the latest version
If, despite the association of the CMU Sphinx program with the CMU Sphinx Model Format file, the file still does not open, check the program version and possibly update it to the newest version. Some applications allow you to update from the program level, and for others you need to download the installer from the SourceForge.net page and install.
Step 4. Check for the following problems with the G2P file

Very often, the file may be size 0 or incomplete. Usually this applies to G2P files downloaded from the Internet in case the download did not finish properly. The file should be downloaded again, making sure that the process has finished correctly.

For the best results, we will scan the entire operating system, not just our G2P file. As a result of the scan, sometimes it is not possible to recover G2P files, which are deleted if there is a backup of this file, then after restoring it, it must also be scanned.
Older version of G2P file may not always be supported by the latest software version. On their websites, developers usually offer free solutions to such problems, e.g. in the form of a conversion program or an older version of the program.
The file may be corrupted in a number of ways. Depending on the type of file, it is necessary to repair it accordingly. Some programs offer the option of recovering data from damaged G2P files. You can restore the file from a backup or use help.
The program can also signal the fact of encryption. The encrypted G2P files cannot be played on other computers than the one on which they were encrypted, they must be decrypted before using on another device.
The operating system protects files in some locations (e.g. the root of the system partition) against unauthorized access. The problem is only writing to the file, not reading it. Copying the G2P file to another location will fix the problem.
This problem only occurs with more complex files. Some file types can only be opened in one program at a time. Just close unnecessary programs. Sometimes you have to wait for the session to the file G2P to close. Antivirus programs or a backup being made may lock the file for a while without the user's knowledge. If the problem persists, restart the machine.
