Step 2. Create association of cFos IPv6 Link with CFOS6LINK files

If, despite the installed application, the CFOS6LINK file does not start in the cFos IPv6 Link application, you must create a file association. This option is available from the level of Properties of a specific file available in the context menu. Information about the file and the program that the file is associated with are available here. Using the "Change" button we can select the desired program. The program should be visible in the window, otherwise it should be selected manually using the "Browse" button and the program installation directory should be indicated. The "always use the selected program ..." field will set the cFos IPv6 Link application as the default for handling the CFOS6LINK file.

Step 3. Update cFos IPv6 Link to the latest version

The fault may also lie with the cFos IPv6 Link program, it is possible that CFos IPv6 Link Registration Data Format requires a newer version of the program. Some applications allow you to update from the program level, and for others you need to download the installer from the cFos Software GmbH page and install.

If the above steps do not help, you can assume that the file itself is not correct. File problems can be divided into the following:

Very often, the file may be size 0 or incomplete. This suggests truncating the CFOS6LINK file contents when downloading or copying. The file should be downloaded again, making sure that the process has finished correctly.
The operating system may be infected with a computer virus. A virus scan using an up-to-date antivirus program should fix the problem. Some antivirus vendors also provide free online scanners. For the best results, we will scan the entire operating system, not just our CFOS6LINK file. Sometimes virus-infected CFOS6LINK files cannot be recovered, so make a backup in advance.
A typical compatibility error - the program does not support the older version of the CFOS6LINK file. These problems are known and are often very easy to fix using the software developers's website.
The file may be corrupted in a number of ways. Repairing is very dependent on the file type. Sometimes the program itself has options to repair the most popular CFOS6LINK file corruption. You can restore the file from a backup or use help.
When reading, a message appears that the file was encrypted or corrupted. The encrypted CFOS6LINK files can be used by the device on which they were encrypted, on any other device it is required to have the appropriate cryptographic key and decrypt the file before its recovery.
Some of the system directories are excluded from modification. While there is usually no problem reading such a file, it may not be possible to save it. Copying the CFOS6LINK file to another location will fix the problem.
This problem only occurs with more complex files. You may find that another program you are using is preventing you from working with the file. Running programs (including those in the background) should be verified. Sometimes it is necessary to wait a while before referencing the CFOS6LINK file again. Antivirus programs or a backup being made may lock the file for a while without the user's knowledge. If nothing helps, please reset the device.
